Officials: Charges Pending After Shue-Medill Middle School Threat Investigation

Officials have updated the investigation in to the alleged social media threats that were circulating yesterday afternoon.

“Dear Shue-Medill Parents, Staff and Community,

It is our priority to keep you informed of incidents related to student, staff and community safety. Last evening, we received a report of a threat made against the school that was circulating on social media.

The Christina School District takes all threats seriously. The Delaware State Police were called to investigate. As a result of that investigation, the Delaware State Police has identified the students involved, and spoken to the students and parents. The students will be disciplined according to the Student Manual. The Delaware State Police have charges pending against the students.

However, as a precaution, we will have an additional police presence at school today. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.

If you have any information that may be helpful to this investigation, please contact the school administration at 454-2171. I thank you for your support in helping us keep our school a safe place for learning for all.

Sincerely,
Michele Savage
Principal, Shue-Medill Middle School”
