Bear – On Thursday, (Feb 21) officers from the New Castle Division of Police were dispatched to the unit block of South Cedar Creek Court in the community of Rivers End for a report of a shooting. When the officers arrived at the scene they found a single 35-year-old male victim suffering from a single gunshot wound to his leg.
Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived on scene and assumed the investigation. The investigation revealed that the victim was approached by two black male subjects who asked to use a phone.
The victim stated that he allowed them to enter the residence at which time the second black male brandished a handgun and demanded that the victim turn over his property, according to police. One of the subjects then took the firearm from the second suspect and pointed it at the victim and fired a single round into his leg, police said. The subjects then gathered and removed valuables and subsequently fled the residence.
Police have identified one of the subjects as 37-year-old Parish Lloyd. Lloyd was taken into custody in Maryland on February 22nd, by the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a separate investigation. He was later extradited back to Delaware on February 25th.
Further, the investigation into the second suspect revealed a separate home invasion committed on February 21st in the community of Ashton Condominiums, police said. According to the victims, two subjects entered their residence armed with a handgun and removed valuables and prescription medication. Investigators were able to link Parish to this incident and then they were able to confirm the identity of the second suspect, 39-year-old, Erogers Bey, according to police. Bey was taken into custody yesterday, March 5th.
Parish Lloyd was charged with one count of felony Assault 1st, two counts of felony Robbery First Degree, two counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Two counts of felony Home Invasion, two counts of felony possession of a Firearm by Person Prohibited, two counts of felony Aggravated Menacing, two counts of felony Conspiracy 2nd, one count of Theft of Prescription Medication and one count of misdemeanor theft. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and held in lieu of $342,000 secured bail.
Erogers Bey was charged with one count of felony Assault 1st, two counts of felony Robbery First Degree, two counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Two counts of felony Home Invasion, two counts of felony possession of a Firearm by Person Prohibited, two counts of felony Aggravated Menacing, two counts of felony Conspiracy 2nd, one count of Theft of Prescription Medication, one count of misdemeanor theft, one count of misdemeanor Theft by False Pretense and one count of misdemeanor Selling Stolen Property. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and held in lieu of $358,500 cash bail.
