Troopers: Glasgow Game Stop Robbed On Thursday

The Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of a Newark area video game store that took place Thursday afternoon, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.

Austin said the incident occurred at approximately 3:16 p.m., Thursday, May 9, 2019, at the Game Stop, located at 870 Peoples Plaza, Newark. A male suspect confronted an employee at the sales counter and produced a note announcing a robbery. The suspect then threatened to shoot the employee if they didn’t open the register. The employee complied with the demand and the suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was described as a black male, 25-32 years of age, 5’8” tall, 200 lbs., wearing a light colored hooded sweatshirt with the hood drawn tight around his head and dark pants.

Breaking Report

Glasgow – Just after 3:30 this afternoon Delaware State Police, along with New Castle County K-9 units responded to Peoples Plaza in the area of the Game Stop.

Authorities were observed searching the shopping center groups and nearby baseball fields.

Radio traffic indicates that a robbery may have occurred, however, that has not been confirmed.
