Warden At Smyrna Prison Placed On Administrative Leave

Smyrna – The warden at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center near Smyrna was placed on leave following the inmate uprising that left corrections officer Sgt. Steven Floyd dead, according to a statement released by Department of Corrections Spokesperson Jayme Gravell.

Gravell said that Warden Pierce was placed on administrative leave with pay on Monday, 2/20 and that Deputy Warden Parker is Acting Warden until further notice. We are unable to share additional details as personnel records are private.
