One In Custody After Barricaded Subject Incident In Newark Apartment

Newark Police have arrested a man after a domestic-related incident turned into a barricaded subject incident, according to Lt. Andrew Rubin.

Officers and an ambulance were dispatched to the 100-block of Thorn Lane Thursday evening. At around 8:30 Rubin said that the man was barricaded in his apartment and that the area of Thorn Lane, between Madison Drive and Elkton Road was closed.

At around 10:00 Thursday evening Rubin said that the subject was in custody and the area was reopened.

Rubin did not say why the ambulance was called to the scene or if anyone was transported.
