Welch Pulls Out Of AG Primary, Murray Will Face Jennings In November

Former Kent County Judge Charles “Chuck” Welch has pulled out of the race for Delaware Attorney General.

On Tuesday the Sussex County Republican Committee announced that the April 1st debate between Julianne Murray and Judge Welch has been canceled.

“Due to a recent event, the Sussex County Republican Committee will be canceling the Attorney General Debate,” said Marilyn Booker, committee chair. “Judge Welch has removed his name from contention at this time. He has exacerbated a health issue that he needs to address.”

The move by Welch means there will be no primary election for Murray. She will now face Kathy Jennings in the general election in November.
