Two Injured In Friday Morning Accident In New Castle

Delaware State Police are investigating a crash that injured two Friday morning in New Castle.

Just after 7:10 this morning crews from New Castle County Paramedics (NCCEMS), Holloway Terrace, Minquadale, Goodwill and Wilmington Manor Fire Companies responded to New Castle Avenue at Rodney Drive for a motor vehicle collision with entrapment, according to NCCEMS Senior Sergeant Abigail Haas.

Haas said arriving units found a two-vehicle collision involving a four-door sedan and an SUV with the driver of the SUV trapped in her vehicle. The driver of the SUV was extricated in just under ten minutes by fire department personnel.

The 20-year-old male driver of the sedan suffered a possible head injury and was transported by a Holloway Terrace Fire Company ambulance with paramedics on board. The 52 year-old female driver of the SUV suffered abdominal and extremity injuries and was transported by a Wilmington Manor Fire Company ambulance with paramedics on board. Both patients were transported to Christiana Hospital in Stanton in stable condition.
