Police Searching For Man Wanted In Shooting Of His Wife

The New Castle County Division of Police, Criminal Investigations Unit is currently investigating a domestic-related shooting that occurred in the William Penn Village Apartments according to Sgt. Tracey Duffy.

Duffy said on Sunday (7/2) at approximately 3:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to the unit block of Tulip Lane (William Penn Village Apartments) after receiving multiple calls for shots fired and a person screaming.

Police responded to the scene and found a 57-year-old woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  The victim was transported to Christiana Medical Center.

Detectives identified the shooter as the victim’s estranged husband, 58-year-old Reginald Fayton Sr., and an arrest warrant has been obtained said Duffy.

Reginald Fayton, Sr. is described as a Black male, 5’6’’ tall and weighing approximately 240 lbs.  He is considered armed and dangerous.  If located, members of the community are advised to avoid contact and dial 9-1-1.
