Wilmington Police Apprehend Three Juveniles in Connection to Attempted Robbery
In response to a reported robbery on July 20, the Wilmington Police Department arrested three male juveniles who police say attempted to rob a victim in the 300 block of North Adams Street.
Upon receiving the robbery report at around 6:40 in the morning, officers quickly arrived at the scene and spotted three male juveniles who matched the suspects’ description. They immediately attempted to engage with the individuals, but one of the suspects tried to escape on foot. The police pursued the fleeing suspect, and after a brief foot chase, they managed to apprehend a 14-year-old male juvenile without incident. During the arrest, an airsoft pistol was recovered from the scene police said.
Additionally, the other two juveniles involved, aged 13 and 12, were taken into custody by the police without any resistance or trouble.
Each suspect is facing serious charges related to the attempted robbery. The 14-year-old suspect, who was found in possession of the airsoft pistol, has been charged with Attempted Robbery in the First Degree, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, Conspiracy in the Second Degree, and Resisting Arrest.
Similarly, the 13-year-old and 12-year-old suspects have been charged with Attempted Robbery in the First Degree, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, and Conspiracy in the Second Degree.
Following their arrests, the three juveniles were presented before the New Castle County Family Court for arraignment. Subsequently, they were committed to the New Castle County Juvenile Detention Center to await further legal proceedings.
