Police: Dirt Bike Riders Cause Thousands In Damage To Rock Manor Golf Course

Police officers from the New Castle County Division of Police are currently investigating a felony criminal mischief that occurred at Rock Manor Golf Course in Wilmington. The incident took place on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at approximately 6:49 p.m. in the 1300 block of Carruthers Lane.

According to reports received by authorities, a large group of suspects recklessly drove dirt bikes and ATVs onto the golf course, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. The vandals performed dangerous stunts, including spinning donuts and causing significant damage to the greens. The estimated cost of the destruction amounts to thousands of dollars police said Monday.

Beyond the financial loss, the reckless behavior also posed a serious threat to the safety of patrons who were present at the golf course during the incident added police.

As of now, the investigation is ongoing, and the police are seeking assistance from the public. Anyone who witnessed the incident or captured it on cell phone video is urged to come forward with information by contacting the New Castle County Division of Police non-emergency number at (302) 573-2800.
