Man Faces Attempted Sexual Assault Of Minors, Trying To Disarm Officer

Bellmawr, NJ – Bellmawr Police responded to a report of a burglary at a residence on Troy Avenue Saturday morning.

Officials said Police arrived and learned a Bellmawr man entered a neighbor’s house and attempted to engage in a sexual act with two 13-year-old girls.

While Bellmawr Police were attempting to arrest the man, identified as Edward Lynch, 29, he attempted to disarm an officer while he was resisting arrest according to police.

Police took the accused into custody and he was later charged and remanded to Camden County Jail.

Police said Lynch assaulted a Bellmawr EMT who was providing medical attention to him after his arrest.

He has been charged with Burglary in the 2nd degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the 2nd degree, Aggravated Assault in the 3rd degree, Resisting Arrest in the 4th degree, Criminal Mischief in the 4th degree, Disarming a Police Officer in the 2nd degree, and Attempted Aggravated Sexual Assault in the 1st degree.
