Four Transported To Area Hospitals After Head-On Collison In Townsend Friday

File

Police are investigating a traffic collision that occurred Friday morning just after 8:00 on Tony Marchio Drive at Old State Road in Townsend.

Initial reports indicate that the accident involved a head-on collision involving two vehicles. Three patients from one of the vehicles were transported to AI DuPont Hospital, while the driver of the other vehicle was taken to Christiana Hospital. All patients were transported with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The collision impacted parents who were dropping off their children at nearby Odessa High School and Old State Elementry School, as the accident blocked the road for a period. The road has since been reopened.

Further details are expected to be released later today.
