WPD Confirms Woman Was Fatally Assaulted Last Week

Wilmington Police are investigating a fatal assault that occurred in the 700 block of Catawba Street.
 
Officials said on September 12 at approximately 9:43 a.m., police were dispatched to the 700 block of Catawba Street in reference to a death investigation. Police located a deceased female, who has been identified as 44-year-old Myeshia Triplett.

Officials said the case was assigned to Detective Justin Kane of the Criminal Investigations Division, and the investigation continued in conjunction with the Delaware Division of Forensic Sciences. On September 16, it was determined that she was the victim of a fatal assault.

For the last several days details regarding the incident have been discussed on social media. Officials did not confirm the details mentioned in the posts. They also did not say if there is a person of interest or if anyone has been charged.
