16-YO Charged With Armed Robbery

Wilmington Police have arrested a male juvenile in connection with an armed robbery following an investigation.

Officials said on March 18, at approximately 7:00 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 600 block of South Franklin Street, in reference to an armed robbery. The case was assigned to Detective John O’Connor of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective O’Connor identified a 16-year-old male juvenile as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest police said.

On April 10, the 16-year-old male was taken into custody in Delaware County, PA, on an unrelated matter. On April 21, the 16-year-old male juvenile was extradited to Delaware.

The 16-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Robbery (First Degree)
  • Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
  • Conspiracy (Second Degree)

He was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and was committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $16,000 cash-only bail.
