Man Charged With 5 DUI, Released On Unsecured Bond

Delaware State Police have arrested 78-year-old Linwood Lewis of Felton for felony DUI following a traffic stop late Tuesday morning.

Officials said at approximately 11:19 a.m. Tuesday, a trooper on patrol observed a Nissan Murano traveling along South Dupont Highway near Main Street in Felton with expired registration. The vehicle was stopped, and the driver, identified as Lewis, was contacted.

Once detained, a computer check showed that Lewis had four prior DUI-related convictions police said.

Lewis was transported to Delaware State Police Troop 3, where he was formally charged with Fifth Offense Driving Under the Influence, a felony. He was also charged with Resisting Arrest and Operation of an Unregistered Vehicle.
