Saturday Crash Sends Two To Hospital

A multi-vehicle collision, including a motorcycle, occurred Saturday evening on Summit Bridge Road near Old School House Road.

According to New Castle County EMS, the crash was reported at approximately 7:30 p.m. and involved the Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown alongside paramedics. Responders arrived to find multiple vehicles damaged and at least one person trapped.

A 55-year-old man was transported by New Castle County Paramedics on a Volunteer Hose Company ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton. He was reported to be in serious condition with extremity injuries and possible internal injuries.

A 66-year-old woman was taken by the Volunteer Hose Company to Middletown Emergency Department in stable condition.

Delaware State Police are investigating the cause of the crash. Emergency crews from the Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown and New Castle County Paramedics were on scene for the response.
