Plane Crashes East Of Dover Tuesday Afternoon

DOVER, Del. (September 9, 2025, 3:48 p.m.) — Emergency crews responded Tuesday afternoon to Chandelle Airport on Kruser Road in Dover following reports of a small aircraft crash.

According to dispatch communications, a crop duster went down in the woods approximately 400 yards northeast of the airport, near Savanna Road. Power lines were brought down during the incident. Initial reports confirmed the aircraft was not carrying chemicals.

Fire companies from Leipsic, Dover Air Force Base, Cheswold, and Little Creek were dispatched, along with Kent County Paramedics. Responders reached the crash area, which was located in a wooded section northeast of the airport.

The Delaware State Police issued a statement confirming their presence on Kruser Boulevard near Silver Leaf Lane, where power lines were down in connection with the crash. Authorities reported that no injuries occurred and said they are assisting fire, EMS, and federal investigators.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
