Crash Traps One On Delaware Memorial Bridge Early Saturday

A 25-year-old man was rescued after a crash on Interstate 295 at the Delaware Memorial Bridge early Saturday morning.

Just after 4:20, emergency crews from Holloway Terrace Fire Company, Minquadale Fire Company, Delaware State Police Aviation, and New Castle County Paramedics responded and confirmed the driver was trapped inside his vehicle for more than 10 minutes.

Paramedics reported the man sustained suspected internal injuries and minor injuries to his chest and extremities. He was treated on scene and transported by Minquadale Fire Company ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Newark. New Castle County Paramedics accompanied him, and he was listed in stable condition at the time of transport.

The Delaware River and Bay Authority Police are investigating the crash.
