Over 300 Grams Found During Traffic Stop

A Wilmington man has been arrested on drug-related charges following a late-night traffic stop in the city, according to police.

Authorities said the incident occurred on April 22 at approximately 10:41 p.m., when members of the Uniformed Services Division conducted a vehicle stop in the area of 5th and North Market Streets for a reported traffic violation. During the stop, officers made contact with the driver, identified as 21-year-old Darius Douge, who was taken into custody without incident.

Police reported that officers recovered approximately 311.5 grams of marijuana during the investigation.

Douge has been charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, as well as possession of a controlled substance (Tier 1), in addition to a traffic citation. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released pending further proceedings.
