The Delaware State Police have identified the man who died in a three-vehicle crash Friday morning in Georgetown.
The crash occurred on June 19, 2026, at approximately 7:20 a.m. on Old Furnace Road west of Rementer Road. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling eastbound when it crossed the dashed center line and sideswiped a westbound Toyota Sienna. The Chevrolet then continued eastbound and collided head-on with a westbound Nissan Rogue.
The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 52-year-old Jon Jefferson of Lincoln, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Toyota, a 50-year-old Georgetown woman, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Nissan, a 33-year-old Seaford man, sustained serious injuries and was flown to an area hospital by the Delaware State Police Aviation Section.
Old Furnace Road was closed for approximately four hours while troopers investigated the crash and cleared the scene. The Delaware State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
