Police Identify Man Killed In Sunday Crash

Wilmington Police have identified the man who died following a two-vehicle crash Sunday night as 24-year-old Shakur Wilmer.

The collision occurred at approximately 9:17 p.m. on August 9 at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and North Adams Street.

Wilmer and a 23-year-old woman, who were occupants of one of the vehicles, were injured and transported to the hospital. Wilmer was listed in critical condition and later succumbed to his injuries.

The collision remains under investigation by the Wilmington Police Department Special Operations Division/Traffic Unit.
