Gunfire Outside Sports Bar Leads To Charges

Delaware State Police arrested a 37-year-old Wilmington woman after authorities say she fired multiple shots outside a New Castle sports bar early Sunday morning.

Troopers responded to the 3800 block of North Dupont Highway at approximately 1:30 a.m. on October 4 for a report of shots fired. Police said troopers found spent shell casings near the building, and victims identified Tiffany Morales as the alleged shooter. Troopers located Morales and took her into custody without incident.

According to the preliminary investigation, Morales had dropped her purse while involved in a physical altercation with an unrelated person. Police said the victims picked up the purse and returned it to Morales, who then accused them of stealing it.

Investigators said Morales went to her vehicle, retrieved a handgun and pointed it at one of the victims before firing multiple shots. Detectives later located evidence related to the shooting inside Morales’ vehicle, according to police. No injuries or property damage were reported.

Morales was taken to a local hospital for unrelated, non-life-threatening injuries. She was later charged with Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Aggravated Menacing and two counts of First-Degree Reckless Endangering.

Following arraignment in Justice of the Peace Court, Morales was committed to the Delaware Department of Correction on a $23,000 cash bond.
