Wilmington – On Tuesday May 16, 2017, at approximately 4:33 p.m., Wilmington Police Officer’s responded to the 100 block of W. 26th Street in reference to a shots fired investigation, according to police.
Officials said arriving officer’s were directed to a residence located in the block where two, male victims were found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The first victim, identified as a 29-year-old man was suffering from a gunshot wound to his left, upper leg area. He was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and airlifted by the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit to the Christiana Hospital Emergency Room.
The second victim, described as a 39-year-old male was suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdominal area. He was also treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and transported via ambulance to the Christiana Hospital Emergency Room. Both victims are described as in stable condition.
These shootings are the latest in a string of shootings that have occurred during the daylight hours in Wilmington this year.
