NCCPD Responds to Multiple Shots Being Fired in Three (3) Nearby Communities

New Castle County Police detectives have arrested 23-year-old Tyair Collins in connection with this investigation.

(New Castle, Del.- 19720) On Friday (July 29), New Castle County Police arrested Tyair Collins in connection with this investigation. Detectives were able to identify Tyair Collins in the previously released video of the incident, according to police.
Tyair Collins was charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and reckless endangering in the first degree – all of which are felonies. He was committed to Young Correctional Institution after failing to post $45,000 secured bail.

New Castle – Last night at around 8 pm New Castle County Patrol units responded to the unit block of Thorn Lane in Rosegate, the unit block of Parker Place in Simonds Gardens, and the 100 block of Central Avenue in Holloway Terrace for the report of multiple gun shots being fired.

multiple shootingsArriving units searched the area but were unable to locate anyone injured or any potential suspects. Upon inspection of the multiple scenes and through the interview of multiple witnesses, officers located several pieces of evidence indicating over 30 rounds being fired throughout the multiple locations.

The police said that there is limited suspect information at this time.
