Police have uploaded a new case to their new cold case website.

Victim: Ruben Maldonado, 46-year-old male

Murdered on: Tuesday, May 7th, 2013

Location: 758 Christiana Road Newark, DE 19713

Investigation Details:

On Tuesday, May 7th, 2013 at approximately 11:14 p.m., police responded to a shooting in the area of 758 Christiana Road, Cedar Wood Apartments in Newark Delaware. The victim was discovered lying on the ground motionless while in front of a building. The victim was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead as a result of a gunshot wound to his upper body.

Police are investigating robbery as a possible motive.

Ruben Maldonado-suspectA witness was able to assist Police with the construction of a composite sketch of the possible suspect. The suspect is described as a black male 5’7 to 5’10” tall, who had dark complexion and weighed approximately 200 lbs. New Castle County Cold Case Detectives are asking the public for assistance in identifying  the suspect in the sketch.
