Women Ejected From SUV On Route 1 Dies

Townsend– Delaware State Police said that around 3:45 Saturday afternoon Danielle R. Cain, 27 of Dover, was operating a 2001 Ford Escape southbound on Route 1 in the area of Pine Tree Road.  For unknown reasons, the SUV entered the center median and overturned numerous times ejecting a 58-year-old front seat passenger from the vehicle.  The car came to a stop in the middle of Route 1 northbound lanes.

Danielle Cain, who was properly restrained, was airlifted by State Police Aviation to Christiana Medical Center where she is currently admitted in critical condition.

Jonese Y. Seymore, 58 of Dover, was not properly restrained and was transported by EMS to Christiana Medical Center where she was admitted with undetermined injuries.  She died a few hours later from the injuries she sustained in the crash.

Traffic was impacted for approximately two and a half hours while the crash was investigated and cleared
