Second Newark 7-11 Robbed At Gunpoint

Newark –  Delaware State Police are investigating the armed robbery of a Newark area 7-11 that occurred early this morning, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Jeffrey R. Hale

Hale said the initial investigation has determined that the incident happened at approximately 3:20 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2016, as a male suspect entered the 7-11 located at 11 Redmill Road, Newark.

The suspect, who was armed with an handgun, approached the clerk and demanded money from the store’s cash register, according to police. The clerk complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to him. The suspect then exited the store and fled in an unknown direction. The clerk was not injured.

The suspect was described as a white male. He was 5’09”-5’10” tall, weighed 160-175 lbs., and was last seen wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt, brown pants, and had a mask covering his face. There is no further physical or clothing description available. No video surveillance photos are available to be released at this time
