Another Shooting In Wilmington Leaves 1 Dead, 1 In Critical

Wilmington – On February 23, 2017 at approximately 8 p.m., Wilmington Police Officers responded to the 600 block of E. 23rd Street in reference to a Shot Spotter notification of gunfire, according to Wilmington Police.

wilmington-shootingAuthorities said that arriving officers were immediately directed inside of a residence in the 600 block of E.23rd Street. Inside, officers located a 38-year-old male victim on the first floor suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to his upper torso.

Assisting officers located a second victim, identified as a 21-year-old male down in the 600 block of E. 23rd Street. The 21-year-old male was found to be suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his back area.

The victims were treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to the Christiana Hospital Emergency Room where the 38-year-old victim later died. The 21-year-old victim is in critical but stable condition.
