Dinner Proves Costly For Work Crews, Tools Stolen From Trucks

Newark – On Tuesday March 14, 2017 at approximately 7:15 p.m. the Newark Police responded to the Suburban Plaza Shopping Center for a report of a theft of multiple power tools from several work trucks parked outside Applebee’s.

It was reported that approximately 10 work trucks were parked in the parking lot as they were inside the restaurant eating between 6:50 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. The victim left the restaurant and while driving down the road, his utility box flew open.

When the victim stopped to close the box, he noticed that his tools were missing. In all, nine hand tools, including saws and drills, were missing for a total value of $3,600. A silver sedan was seen in the area of the trucks, with no further description.
