Police: Woman With Handgun and Weed Busted On Main Street In Newark

Newark – On Monday March 20, 2017 at approximately 6:52 a.m. the Newark Police arrested 28-year-old Keisha Wilmore, of Wilmington, according to Sergeant Gerald J. Bryda.

Ntyda said that officers responded to the area of 230 East Main Street for a report of a verbal dispute in progress possibly involving a firearm. Officers responded and noticed a female walking away from the area at a fast pace, said Bryda.

Officers made contact with the female in the parking lot of the Super 8 Motel where it was determined that she was part of the verbal dispute according to Bryda. During the course of contacting the female, officers located a handgun and marijuana in a purse she was carrying, added Byrda.

Wilmore was taken into custody without incident and charged with Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon and Possession of a Weapon While in Possession of a Controlled Substance. Wilmore was arraigned on the charges and released on $6,600 unsecured bond.
