Double Shooting Brings Wilmington Count To 46 This Year

Wilmington – On Friday, March 24, 2017 at approximately 6:30 p.m., Wilmington Police Officers responded to the area of the 800 block of Vandever Avenue in reference to a shooting investigation, according to police

Officials said that arriving officers located two victims in the block. The first victim, described as a 23-year-old male was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to his arm and abdominal areas.

The second victim, identified as a 23-year-old male was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his leg.

Both victims were treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to area hospitals in stable condition. The only suspect information available is an unknown black male, approximately 18 years of age that fled the area of the shooting on foot. These latest shootings brings the number of people shot in Wilmington, this year, to 46. At this time last year that number was 35.
