Officer Involved Shooting Leaves Philadelphia Man Dead In New Castle

New Castle – The New Castle County Police are currently investigating an officer involved shooting that occurred in Coachman’s Manor and left a 28-year-old Philadelphia man dead, according to Tracel Duffy.

Duffy said that the preliminary investigation revealed County Police responded to the 100 block of Carriage Way at approximately 7:45 p.m. last night, Wednesday March 29, 2017, for a check on the welfare.

A man, later identified as the 28-year-old Philadelphia man then engaged in a struggle with an officer and shots were fired, according to Duffy.

The man was transported to Christiana Medical Center where he later died.
