Apartment Fire Leaves One In Critical, Others Displaced

Dover – The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating this afternoon’s fire in Dover, Delaware that critically injured a man.

The blaze, reported shortly after 12:00 pm, occurred at the
s located at 51 Webb’s Lane. The Dover Fire Department arrived on the scene with flames coming from a 2nd story apartment.

State fire investigators are on the scene currently searching for the fire’s origin and cause. A 41-year-old male resident was severely burned. He was transported to Bayhealth’s Kent General Hospital in critical condition.

Heavy fire damage was estimated at $250,000. The American Red Cross assisted providing emergency aid to the other residents in the building. The exact number of residents displaced has not been tallied at this time.

This investigation continues.
