Elsmere Fire Sends Two To Hospital In Critical

Elsmere – At approximately 1:10 P.M. this afternoon New Castle County Paramedics along with several fire companies were dispatched to the unit block of Rigdon Road in the Vilone Village area of Elsmere for a residential structure fire, according to New Castle County Paramedic Spokeswoman Yvonne Russell.

Russell said upon arrival, County Paramedics found two patients from the residential fire. The first patient, a 24-year-old male, sufferind inhalation injuries and minor burns. The patient was transported via Elsmere Fire Company ambulance.

The second patient, a 57-year-old female, suffered inhalation injuries. The patient was transported via Minquadale Fire Company ambulance. Both patients were in critical condition and transported to Christiana Hospital accompanied by County Paramedics.

Elsmere Police Department and State Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating the fire.
