Injury Crash Closes Road In Stanton

Accident Scene Illuminated By Emergency Lights

Stanton – Last night, April 18, just before 10:00 p.m. police and rescue crews from Christina Fire Company responded to and injury accident just north of the Route 4 & Route 7 intersection.

The original call, dispatched by New Castle County 911, came out as a injury accident involving a rape. Blurry images from DelDOT cameras captured two badly damaged vehicles but it is unclear why the rape notation was added to the call.

Delaware State Police said that the accident was a minor accident and they’re not sure why it was tagged as a rape.

The road was closed as crews worked the scene forcing some drivers to cross the median to turn around.

This story was corrected.
