Fiery Crash In Elkton Claims One Life, Another Flown To Hospital

Elkton, MD – Just after 4:00 pm this afternoon Elkton Police, Maryland State Troopers, along with the Singerly Fire Company responded to the intersection of Maloney Road and Pulaski Highway (route 40) for a report of an motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle.

Arriving units found both a car and a motorcycle on fire with two patients injured. Both patients were receiving assistance from passing motorist and an employee from a near by business.

Reports from the scene indicate that one patient died at the scene and the other was flown to the hospital in a State Police helicopter.

Route 40 remained closed in both direction as officials investigated the accident.

Developing. We are awaiting an official statement from the the Maryland State Police regarding the accident.
