Wilmington – The Wilmington Police Department Special Operations Traffic Unit was on the scene of a serious accident in the 500 block of S. Market Street yesterday. Several emergency vehicles and fire apparatus were on S. Market Street at Martin Luther King Boulevard, according to Wilmington Police.
Officials said yesterday at approximately 2:30 pm a traffic accident involving two teens claimed one life. “The victim from the fatal traffic accident investigation on July 27, 2017 which occurred in the 500 Block of S. Market Street has been identified as a 17-year-old juvenile male of Wilmington”, read a statement released by police.
The passenger of the vehicle, identified as a 17-year-old male, remains in the Christiana Hospital in critical condition. Wilmington Police have not released anything further.
