Lancaster Pike Car Fire Brings Morning Traffic To A Crawl

Wilmington – New Castle County Police, along fire crews from the Cranston Heights Fire Company are currently on scene at the intersection of of Route 141 (Center Road) and Route 48 (Lancaster Pike) for a vehicle on fire call.

Arriving units found a white SUV Volvo with fire coming from the engine compartment.

Reports from the scene indicate that the vehicle may be stolen. Several county Police Officers are on scene investigating.

The officers area talking to someone in the back of one of the patrol cars.
