Police: Tavern Bouncer Struggles With Man Who Inappropriately Touched Patron

J. Laughlin

Newark – On September 8, 2017 at 11:55 pm an officer on routine patrol was driving past The Deer Park, 108 W. Main Street, when he observed several Deer Park bouncers struggling with a subject in the middle of the street, according to Newark Police Spokesman Fred Nelson.

Nelson said the officer stopped and was advised by the bouncers that the subject, later identified as Jon R. Laughlin, 31, of New Castle, had inappropriately touched a patron in the parking lot. Officers contacted the victim, a 21-year-old female from New Castle, who stated that the suspect approached her in the parking lot and touched her without her consent, according to Nelson.

Laughlin and the victim did not have contact with one another prior to this incident, added Nelson. Laughlin was arrested and video arraigned in front of Justice of the Peace Court 11. He was released on $500 unsecured bond.
