Newark Woman Involved In Accident In Elkton, Pedestrian Killed

Elkton — Maryland State Police are continuing to investigate a fatal motor vehicle collision the occurred Thursday in Elkton, Maryland, according to State Police.

Officials indicated that at approximately 7:55 p.m. Thursday, a Ford Explorer driven by a 28-year-old Newark woman was traveling eastbound on Delaware Avenue west of Creswell Avenue. At that time, for unknown reasons, a pedestrian entered the roadway and was struck. The pedestrian was identified as Jason Brown, 36, of Elkton, Maryland. Brown was pronounced deceased at the scene by Cecil County EMS.

Delaware Avenue between White Hall Road and Main Street was closed for approximately 3.5 hours for troopers to conduct their investigation. Any possible witnesses to the collision are asked to contact the Maryland State Police, North East barrack at 410-996-7800.

The investigation is continuing at this time.
