Newark Man Charged With College Square ACME Shoplifting

Newark – On 11/22/17 at approximately 1:00 p.m. Newark Police Department arrested Juan Carrion, 39, of Newark for shoplifting at ACME, 100 College Square. Officers responded to the grocery store after an employee reported that he had stopped Carrion from attempting to leave the store without paying for a cart full of groceries, according to police.

Authorities said officers determined that Carrion had attempted to take $478.67 in assorted food and hygiene products from the store without paying. Carrion was issued a criminal summons for shoplifting and released pending a court appearance at Newark Alderman’s Court 40.
