Police Identify Suspects Arrested After Robbery At Embassy Suites

Newark – Newark Police have updated the story we brought to you first on Saturday. On 11/11/2017 at 6:18 p.m. Newark Police responded to Embassy Suites, 654 S. College Avenue, for a report of a robbery that just occurred in one of the hotel rooms, according to Lieutenant Fred Nelson.

Nelson said the victim, a 44-year-old male from Barnesville, Ohio, reported that he responded to the room to meet with a female that he had just met through an online advertisement. The victim stated he was met at the hotel room door by two males who forcibly went through his pockets removing an undisclosed amount of cash, said Nelson.

Officers arrived at the hotel and set up surveillance on the room where the incident occurred. Officers eventually observed three males exiting the hotel room and entering the elevator. As the doors opened Police officers met the trio and detained them.

After additional investigation, detectives determined that Kevin Bullock and Gerard Stanfield participated in the robbery, said Nelson. Both suspects were arrested, video arraigned through Justice of the Peace Court 11, and committed to Howard Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $2,000 secured bond.

Newark – The Newark Police Department is investigating a robbery that allegedly occurred Saturday night, November 11, 2017,  near the Embassy Suites Hotel on South College Ave.  Reports from the scene indicate that a victim was robbed and the suspect(s) may have fled to a room inside the Embassy Suites.

It’s not clear who was robbed or if the incident took place inside the hotel or in the parking lot. Multiple officers responded to the scene. It’s believed that several people are being questioned in connection with this incident.

The incident occurred across the street from the football stadium, just as the University of Delaware football game was letting out.
