New York – At approximately 7:20 this morning a man believed to be of Bangladeshi descent detonated a suicide bomb near the New York City Port Authority bus terminal, at 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue.

Former NYPD Police Commissioner Bill Braton said that the preliminary investigation indicated that this is an ISIS inspired event.

Early reports indicate that the man’s bomb prematurely detonated. Officials said that three others suffered minor injuries.

Police say Akayed Ullah is the bomb suspect. He’s a 27-year-old Brooklyn resident and has been in U.S. for seven years.

Police have shut the area down as they investigate.
