Newark – Delaware State Police detectives have arrested two Delaware men responsible for multiple robberies that took place in June, after being extradited from Pennsylvania, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.

Austin said at approximately 7:55 p.m., Thursday, June 22, 2017, two masked suspects entered the T-Mobile store, located at 184 Penn Mart Shopping Center, New Castle, where they confronted two employees and a customer. The suspects forced all three victims into a storage room, and then ordered them to fill a bag with cellular devices, according to Austin. The victims complied with the demands by placing a large quantity of cellular devices into a bag, which the suspects took possession of before fleeing, said Austin. None of the victims were injured as a result of the incident.

Immediately after the robbery occurred, a black, Mercedes Benz was developed as a possible suspect vehicle. A Trooper canvassing the area observed a similar vehicle, occupied by two subjects, traveling I-495 northbound and attempted to perform a traffic stop. The operator refused to stop, with a vehicle pursuit ensuing, which then proceeded into Pennsylvania. With the assistance of multiple police agencies, to include the Pennsylvania State Police, the vehicle was stopped in the vicinity of the Philadelphia International Airport. The occupants of the vehicle, identified as Wilson D. Gonzalez, 33, of New Castle and Blane A. Moxley, 31, of Wilmington were taken in to custody and confirmed to be the suspects involved in the robbery, said Austin. Both suspects were then held by Pennsylvania authorities pending extradition back to Delaware.

Through further investigation, detectives were able to link Gonzalez and Moxley to two additional robberies, both taking place at the Verizon Wireless store located at 379 East Chestnut Hill Road, Newark, which occurred on June 14, and June 21, 2017, according to Austin.

On March 5, 2018, Gonzalez and Moxley were extradited to Delaware and transported to Delaware State Police Troop 2, at which time they were formally charged.

Wilson D. Gonzalez was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court #11 on 5 counts of Robbery 1st Degree, 1 count of Attempted Robbery 1st Degree, 5 counts of Wearing a Disguise during the Commission of a Felony, and 4 counts of Conspiracy 2nd Degree. Gonzalez was then committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $163,000.00 cash bail.

Blane A. Moxley was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court #11 on 3 counts of Robbery 1st Degree, 1 count of Attempted Robbery 1st Degree, 4 counts of Wearing a Disguise during the Commission of a Felony and 4 counts of Conspiracy 2nd Degree. Moxley was then committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $106,000.00 cash bail.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents are asked to contact Detective W. Harris of the Troop 2 Robbery Unit at 302-365-8428.
