Slow Speed Chase In Newark Ends With Two Horses In Custody

Newark – Just after 8:00 this morning Delaware State Police picked up the pursuit of two escaped horses that were fleeing from Maryland into Delaware. The horses began their attempted escape in the Appleton Road area before hightailing it onto Route 273.

The pair quickly devised a plan and were able to eluded Troopers by turning onto Bridle Brook Lane, in the the Covered Bridge Farms neighborhood. The two galloped past The Horseshoe (it’s a horseshoe shaped road) before finally being corralled by neighbors on Darien Road (if this road name is a horse reference it’s lost on us).

Shortly after the pair was taken into custody they were released to their mom (lady in the pink hat), who was very happy to see them.

Reports that the two were headed to Nutters Sandwich Shoppe (best sandwiches in town) can not be confirmed.
