Police Arrest Man Three Times In 24 Hour Period

Milford – On 04/02/2018 at approximately 12:26 a.m., the Milford Police Department Patrol Division was dispatched to Royal Farms, 566 S DuPont Blvd, Milford, Sussex County, DE, reference to a strong armed robbery that had just occurred, according to Detective Timothy Maloney.

Maloney said it was learned that the suspect entered into the store and went to purchase a pack of candy, when the clerk opened the cash register, the suspect reached across the counter and the suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and then fled from the business.

There was a brief struggle during the incident but the victim was not injured as a result of the incident, according to Maloney. The suspect’s clothing description matched that of a subject that was in custody earlier in the evening of 04/01/2018, said Maloney.

During the investigation, the clerk positively identified the subject as the suspect, later identified as Corey Comstock, 24 of Milford, according to Maloney.

On 04/02/2018 at approximately 3:07 a.m., the Milford Police Department Patrol Division was dispatched to Royal Farms, 108 Silicato Pkwy, Milford, Kent County, DE, in reference to another strong armed robbery that had just occurred, said Maloney.

In that incident the suspect entered the store and stole cash off the counter while the clerk was attempting to place it in the safe, according to police. The suspect fled from the store in a blue Honda Civic. Investigation revealed that Comstock had a blue Honda Civic registered to him. Through investigation, the clerk was able to positively identified Comstock as the suspect in this case, said Maloney.

Believing that Comstock resided at an address in the 600 Block of Lakelawn Drive, Officers responded to that location and located the blue Honda Civic in the driveway. Contact was made with residents at the address and Comstock was taken into custody without incident. During a search of Comstock, it was learned that Comstock was in possession of suspected heroin, said Maloney.

Comstock was charged with two counts of Robbery 2nd Degree and one count of Possess Consume A Controlled Or Counterfeit Substance Except Human Growth Hormone W/O A Prescription. He had a presentment through the Justice of the Peace Court 3 and was committed to the Department of Corrections in default of $1000.00 USC secured bail with a no contact order with all Royal Farms Locations in Delaware. He was ordered to appear at a later date in both Kent and Sussex Counties’ Court of Common Pleas for preliminary hearings.

Comstock was arrested earlier on 04/01/2018 stemming from a criminal mischief complaint in the 600 Block of Marvel Road that occurred on 03/30/2018. Investigation revealed that Comstock allegedly did criminal mischief to the property as well as trespassed on the property after being ordered by the court to not be in the property, said police.

Comstock was charged with Criminal Mischief Under $1000 Damage Property and Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree. He had a presentment through Justice of the Peace Court 3 and was released on $3000.00 USC unsecured bail with a no contact order with the victim. He was ordered to appear in Sussex County Family Court at a later date reference to this case.
