Police: Motorcycle Blows Through Red Light Slams In To Vehicle

Wilmington – Just after 11:30 yesterday morning, officers responded to the intersection of Lancaster Ave. and Broom Street, for reports of a personal injury motor vehicle collision involving a car and motorcycle.

Upon arrival officers found a male motorcycle rider suffering from injuries sustained in the accident. He was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to Christiana Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

Police say their investigation revealed that the motorcycle rider was traveling Eastbound on Lancaster Ave. at a high rate of speed when he disregarded the traffic control device and struck a vehicle traveling South on Broom Street.
