Newark – Just after 4:30 this afternoon, rescue crews from Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder, along with New Castle County Police responded to the 200 block of Nonantum Drive, in the Nonantum Mills Development, for reports of an injury accident.

Upon arrival crews found one vehicle that had slammed into a construction trailer, parked on the opposite side of the street.

One patient, the female driver, was found to be suffering from serious injuries to her lower extremities. Aetna ambulance crews then requested that medics from the New Castle County Paramedics respond to the scene.

After being treating on scene, the patient was transported to the Christiana Hospital Trauma Center.
