First Of Two Shootings Leaves Man Shot In The Back In Wilmington

On Saturday June 23, 2018, at 3:10 pm, Wilmington Police patrol units responded to the 200 block of West 26th Street regarding a “Shotspotter” notification which alerted to numerous rounds being fired at that location.

Upon arrival in the area, officers were unable to locate a victim. A short time later, a 38-year-old male victim arrived at the Wilmington Hospital by private vehicle.

The victim had been struck twice in the back and is listed in stable condition.

Just over four hours after this shooting incident a woman was shot in the back at 5th and Monroe Street.
