Newark Police Say These Two Are Distracting Shoppers While They Steal From Them

Just after 2:00, on Saturday afternoon, December 8, 2018, a woman approached a shopper at the ACME located at 100 Suburban Plaza in Newark.

The woman engaged another woman in a conversation. Police say while the two were talking a man stood behind them. A short time later, the man removed the victim’s purse and wallet from the victim’s shopping cart and exited the store, according to police.

The woman suspect exited the store a short time later. Both suspects entered a silver sedan and fled the area.

The suspects are a white female in a Dallas Cowboys sweatshirt and a white male with a white beard.

Officials said that the suspects have committed similar crimes in New Castle County.
